The forest near Lembach Map
This castle figures into legends dating back to the 9th or 10th centuries. It was first mentioned in the epic Waltharius poem, and later figured into the legendary Niebelungen Saga. The ruins lie in the middle of the forest, but can be visited by a 10-minute walk from a nearby car parking area.
