This might be my favorite castle in Alsace (as you can tell by all of the photos). It is still pretty intact, and you can climb up to the top of the main tower for great views of the surrounding valley. Also, since you have to walk 45 minutes or so through the woods from town to get there, it was NOT overrun by hoardes of tourists and tourist busses (this is why I listed it as a nature walk, although it is also a cultural site). Being somewhere like this really brings out the little kid in me. I felt like grabbing the nearest stick and chellenging my wife to a sword duel or something. Maybe it's time for us to have children.
