I will be back on the road for several weeks, and will be spending the majority of my time in Chicago. I actually have the freedom to choose my hotel arrangements this time.
Does anyone have any experience with The Hotel Sax? It's downtown on North Dearborn Street. I have heard it's not the usual box hotel, and has some pretty clever amenities. Wasn't it the old House of Blues? Their website is: http://hotelsaxchicago.com.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I leave next week.
Thanks!

Dear Suitcase Living,
I have heard WONDERFUL things about the Hotel Sax in Chicago from my neighbor who recently traveled there on business. She absolutely loved it and she's a tough critic, so that says a lot in itself. She said it was one of the most beautiful hotels she has ever stayed in and she travels frequently. Also, they have a place called The Studio where you can use laptops, XBOX 360, and any other technological device you can come up with... She went to Crimson, the lounge (I remember the name because that is one of my favorite colors) and, of course, everything is crimson red. She said the bartenders came up with some snazzy cocktails that were new to her and her colleagues and they had a blast. She couldn't get over how nice the staff was and she even thinks she saw Mark Harmon, the actor, in the lounge. SO, I say go for it. I hope to go there soon myself. Hope this helps!
