Albany

This one-room biscuit kitchen run by former denizens of the Pine State (aka North Carolina) offers up a real rarity on the West Coast -- serious biscuits and grits for fans of the real deal. Menu items include the Reggie Deluxe (fried chicken, bacon, gravy, egg and cheese), the Moneyball (the same sans egg), many other mouth-watering biscuit pairings, and a damn good bowl of grits. We woke up early and trekked over to Belmont from NW to give this place a try. The line was long but the food was well worth the wait.
