Stamford

Stamford is less than an hour from New York City. If you're visitng relatives in Connecticut or Westchester and want to take the kids someplace interesting think about the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. There's plenty of parking and the place is well-paved so it's easy to use strollers. There are farm animals galore so the kids can see turkeys and other domestic birds running about plus animals in the field: pigs, cows, donkeys, sheep. goats, even yaks. The whole stroll takes about an hour, which is usually just right for toddlers and slightly older children. The Museum and Nature Center has lots of programs for kids also. March 8th, 2008 is a maple sugaring event. The entire place smells from maple syrup. YUMMMMMMM.
