San Francisco

I don't have kids so I can't vouch for these nor do much more then provide a list, however, someone sent me this list and I thought I'd pass it along:

Some great kid friendly activities (in no particular order):

1. Bay Area Discovery Museum (http://badm.org/) - great place, fun activities/play areas, food so/so, great for all ages especially 4-6. just north of the GGBridge in Sausalito. amazing and wonderful kids' museum, especially fabulous on a nice day, but also a good yucky-day place,

2. SF Zoo - better displays than you'd think and improving every year, food is actually pretty good as well. -Depending on how long they're staying, the Oakland Zoo is a cool destination, too.

3. Randall Museum - a little on the smaller side but also fun, don't think it has any food options

4. Chrissy Field - if it's a nice day it can be tons of fun, but if it's too windy then there are better places...

5. Golden Gate Park (Arboretum @ 9th & lincoln) - beautiful, well-protected from windy days, eating options all around 9th and Irving (San Tung Chinese Restaurant @ 12th and Irving), and dim sum at Ton Kiang at 23rd and Geary. The deYoung museum in Golden Gate Park has a tower you can go up to the top of for free, and kids and parents alike will dig the amazing view; also right nearby is the blue playground, the Japanese Teagarden, and the Arboretum, all some of our favorites,

6. Exploratorium at the Palace of Fine Arts and Chrissy Field (within walking)

7. Yerba Buena Center (with the carousel, etc.) for older kids, I've heard Zeum is very cool,

8. Taking the cable car

9. And of course, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is amazing, but it's a bit of a haul down there. There is an aquarium in San Francisco as well but I don't that much about it.

10. Baseball game at SBC Park

All good suggestions. My kids also enjoy going downtown on Main Street and dancing to the free music pumping from the old boom boxes. They also like guessing if the hookers are male or female (the one w/ the highest score gets See Candies).
