Higashi-Jujo JR Station

Akasuimon 赤水門,[1] the Red Floodgate, may be of little interest to the casual tourist, but a pleasant walk in a riverside park. Tokyo is low-lying, and depends on floodgates and levees to avoid inundation. The historic red flood gate is no longer used. Namboku subway line to the last stop--Akabane-Iwabuchi. Wander north through small streets.

Jujo-Ginza. This covered shopping street is a as good a way as any to see how every-day people shop and what they buy. Across the plaza to the right as you leave Jujo Station on the Akabane Line
