The Tenorio Volcano National Park is in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica and home to the beautiful Rio Celeste.

To get to Rio Celeste it is about a one hour bus trip from the town of Guatuso and a 3 km hike.

Minerals from the volcano dye the river a magical blue colour, there is a waterfall, thermal activity and bubbling volcanic gases also in the river. After heavy rain the river loses it´s blue colour due to excessive water.

You can camp at the entrance of the park for $6 USD per night. Cabins at the park entrance are available for $40 USD per night (April 2008). There is also accommodation further down the road.
