Tay Ninh is the capital city of Tay Ninh Province, in the southern region of Vietnam.

Tour buses run every day from Ho Chi Minh City, which is 96km to the northwest. Tours, which usually include a stop at Cu Chi to see the Cu Chi Tunnels, cost about US$4.

• The Cao Dai Temple - masses are held at 6am, mid-day, 6pm, and midnight.

• Nui Ba Den Mountain - there are two ways to get up to the temple: you can walk the traditional trail, or pay a few dollars and take the tram. The views of the countryside are breathtaking.

There are a couple of hotels more or less close by on 30/4 Thang near the roundabout. A hotel room typically comes with aircon and hot shower.

Hoa Binh Hotel,#210 - 30/4 Duong, rooms for 220,000 dong (standard) and 350,000 dong (luxury) including breakfast. They also have massage service.

Anh Dao Hotel,#146 - 30/4 Duong, big rooms for 150,000 dong.

Song Lam Hotel, 30/4 Duong (between An Dao and Hoa Binh Hotel). Rooms for 170,000 dong. They also have massage service.

Nha Nghia Quyen, 30/4 Duong (just opposite Anh Dao Hotel). Small double rooms are 120,000 dong and a large bedroom for three is good value for money at 150,000 dong.

Viet Phuong, in the same block of building as Nha Nghia Quyen, okay room for 140,000 dong.
