From Ostrava, which is a major connection point from other big cities around Czech Republic like Brno and Praha. Train goes hourly in even times.

Go to Ostrava Mošnov, Brno Tuřany or Praha Ruzyně airports. Nearest airport (Ostrava) is about 80 km away

Public buses and trolleybuses carry you around the city for 12 CZK. There are only coin-operated machines inside buses and trolleybuses. They are pretty annoying. If you do not have coins, you have no chance to enter no matter how rich you are.

You can as well go by taxi, about CZK 20 per km (aprox. 0.7 €)

There are many good restaurants around Opava, but some are closed on Sundays. Waiters not allways speak other than czech language. There are several great bakeries around the city too.
