Liberec [1] Nestled in the Jizersky Hory, at the foot of Jested in the Bohemia region of the Czech Republic.

To bus to Liberec from Prague:
- Go to Černý most metro station, the terminal station on the yellow line (B).
- buses go from Černý most to Liberec every 30-60 minutes, and the journey is about 1 hour 10 minutes (as of 2008, 95 crowns one-way).
Travelling by train from Prague would require a transfer and is less convenient.
To travel from Zittau or Dresden, there are direct trains that lead to Liberec.

From the train/bus station, to get to the city centre, walk toward náměstí Soukenné from 1. máje Street, the walk toward the main square (nám. Beneše) by climbing up Pražská Street. If you're not familiar with the city, check out the Tourist Info Centre on the main square (at nám. Beneše 1). From the main square practically every sight can be reached on foot.
To get to the Jested Mountains nearby, one can walk or take the cable car.
- Town Hall (liberecká radnice): the pride of the locals, a luxurious neo-Renaissance architecture build in 1888-93.
- Dr. E. Benes Square (náměstí Dr. E. Beneše): main square of the city, named after the wartime president, Edvard Beneš
- Theatre of F.X. Šalda: behind the town hall, built in 1883 (same year as the National Theatre of Prague), named after František Xaver Šalda, an avant-gard playwright
- Church of St. Anthony the Great: neo-Gothic, no access to the inside, behind Hotel Praha
- Church of the Holy Cross: late 17th-century
- The Renaissance chateau (Felberova Street): glass collection, but no access to the inside
- The North Bohemian Museum
- The Regional Gallery (Ulice U Tiskárny 1): Dutch artworks
- The ZOO: The first zoo in former Czechoslovakia (1919)
- The Botanical Garden

- Climb Ještěd Mountain, either by hiking one of the trails or by cableway (60 Crowns).
- Skiing - city is famous worldwide for winter sport events like FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2009[2] or Jizerské Mountains, where you can enjoy the majestic beauty of the Nordic nature on 115 km of the Jizerská expressway.
- Play Golf in summer - city has two golf resorts with an unforgettable atmosphere.

- Duli (Moskevská 4): pizza, pasta on 1st floor; more on 2nd
- Kavárna Pošta (nám. Beneše 24): Viennese cafe; dances on Friday nights (with extra admissions)

- Hotel Radnice (Moskevská 11): bar/restaurant
