Kyleakin is a small town on Skye. It has become quieter since the Skye Bridge replaced the ferry to the mainland, but is an attractive small town and worth a stop.

Skye is linked to the mainland by a bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin.

Trains stop just the other side of the sea channel from Skye. About three trains daily go from Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness.

Three Scottish Citylink coaches a day run from to Fort William, and Glasgow or Inverness.

Local buses run every 30 minutes over the Skye Bridge between Kyleakin and Kyle of Lochalsh and less frequently to and from Broadford, Portree and Armadale.
