< Kuala Lumpur Ampang is the district in Kuala Lumpur which lies to the east of the City Center and Golden Triangle. It is largely residential but is also home to many foreign diplomatic missions to Malaysia. The district is surprisingly cosmopolitant and many expatriates live in this district. Kuala Lumpur's Little Korea, a small precinct of Korean restaurants and shops. Several of Kuala Lumpur's Middle Eastern restaurants were first established here. For the purposes of this page, the Ampang district is used to cover all areas to the east of Jalan Tun Razak. It also includes areas which theoretically lie outside Kuala Lumpur in the neighbouring state of Selangor which locals also refer to as Ampang, like Ampang Jaya (where Little Korea is located), Ampang New Village (home of the popular "Ampang yong tau foo" dish) and all the housing areas up to Bukit Belachan at the foothills of the Main Range.
[edit] Get inTo go to Ampang you can take the Star-LRT to Ampang station to get to the general vicinity. Another option is to take a taxi, but it will be slower and more expensive than the LRT. Another option is to take a local bus. This is the cheapest but slowest and most difficult. You can drive in using the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). Toll is charged.
